Math
The math curriculum will teach students about many new concepts. As well as new knowledge, we spend
time learning to improve our mental math and problem solving skills. Math will look at four areas of
study:
Number
Patterns and Relations
Shape and Space
Statistics and Probability.
These units are not equal in size; we will be spending more time on number and patterns and
relations than on statistics and probability.

Mathletics
Throughout the school year, we will be using the mathletics internet program to help enhance student
knowledge. The program uses the Manitoba curriculum to create assignments and games for students
that are fun to play, but also reinforce mathematical knowledge. Each student has their own login name
and password that keeps track of how they have been doing. To find out more about it, or to practice
at home, click the following link: Mathletics
